In 2019, Building Solutions was selected to serve as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the major renovation of Memorial Stadium—a community landmark originally built in 1968. The facility was in need of substantial upgrades to meet ADA requirements and improve overall functionality and aesthetics. Spanning multiple years and organized into three distinct phases, the project highlighted our team’s ability to manage complex construction with precision and accountability.

The renovation included new public restrooms, locker rooms, a ticketing building, press box, upgraded stadium seating, structural repairs, and the addition of a 55-foot CMU elevator shaft providing ADA access to the press level. We also improved accessibility and flow through newly designed ADA-compliant parking lots, stairway paths, reconfigured site circulation, rebricked and stucco façades, and updated handrails and guardrails throughout the stadium.

Our team tackled significant technical challenges throughout the build. We integrated new construction—like the press box—into the original post-tension concrete stadium without compromising structural integrity. The elevator shaft was precisely aligned with the existing structure, and thermal heat gain in the glass-enclosed press area was mitigated using interior UV film. Parking layout and traffic flow issues were resolved through proactive on-site assessments and real-time adjustments to civil design plans.

Completed in 2023, the Memorial Stadium renovation is a testament to what hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and real problem-solving can accomplish. The result is a revitalized and accessible facility that continues to serve Dodge City with pride.
