At Building Solutions, we take pride in creating infrastructure that strengthens communities and enhances daily life. One of our past projects in partnership with the city of Minneola, Kansas, focused on revitalizing the sidewalks, curbs, and other key infrastructure elements in the heart of downtown. This extensive project involved constructing 22,000 square yards of sidewalk, spanning from the toe of the curb to storefronts, as well as installing 16,000 feet of new curb and gutter.

In addition to the sidewalk network, we also handled the hardscaping, light pole bases, ADA-compliant ramps and rails, and the installation of an LED sign welcoming visitors at the downtown entry. The biggest challenge we faced was achieving ADA compliance for the sidewalks, as the road’s elevation was significantly lower than that of the storefronts. To overcome this, our team designed and constructed a step curb midway through the sidewalk, complete with a railing, to create a safe, accessible path for all.

Our dedicated concrete crew ensured that each element was crafted with durability and precision, providing a safer, more resilient path that enhances both the appearance and function of downtown Minneola.
