Constructing the addition adjacent to an active school facility required careful planning and sequencing to minimize disruption to students and athletic programs. Building Solutions coordinated demolition, utility extensions, and tie-ins to the existing structure while maintaining a safe environment during ongoing school operations.
The new weight room features custom athletic equipment, logo-integrated rubber flooring, and overhead doors that provide direct access to the covered turf training facility originally constructed by Building Solutions in 2017. The bowling center includes an eight-lane Brunswick bowling system, observation platform, and suspended acoustical cloud ceilings that required extensive coordination among specialty contractors to ensure proper installation and performance.
Through proactive communication, disciplined cost management, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship, Building Solutions successfully delivered a complex educational athletics project that enhances training and competition opportunities for Dodge City High School student-athletes while demonstrating the effectiveness of the CMAR delivery method.

Building Solutions, LLC served as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the 17,300-square-foot Weight Room and Bowling Addition to the Dodge City High School Field House. Completed in 2025 on schedule and within budget, the project expanded USD 443's athletic facilities through the addition of an 8,705-square-foot strength and conditioning center and an 8,595-square-foot bowling facility.
Designed by Tessere of Wichita, Kansas, the addition was constructed using a Nucor pre-engineered metal building system and included new restrooms and a connecting corridor linking the facility to the existing field house. As CMAR, Building Solutions provided preconstruction services including budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, and schedule development while coordinating closely with USD 443, the design team, and specialty vendors throughout the project.
